Early Works- now

Inspired by her instincts and fascination with ink painting, Yeo Shih Yun took her passion to the San Francisco Art Institute to explore it further. Using a limited range of colors and various types of paintbrushes, she experimented with different techniques. Interestingly, her early works unintentionally showcased a captivating blend of traditional Chinese ink painting and abstract art. This mix of conventional and modern elements has come to define her entire body of work up to the present day.

Starting with her intuition and a thirst for knowledge, Yeo Shih Yun embarked on an artistic journey at the San Francisco Art Institute. She wanted to dive deeper into the world of ink painting, which she found incredibly intriguing. Armed with just a few colors and different brushes, she began to play around and try out various methods. What she discovered in her early works was a fascinating balance between the traditional techniques of Chinese ink painting and a more abstract style.

Although she didn't intend it, Yeo Shih Yun's art beautifully combined elements of the past and the present. This mix of old and new has become a defining characteristic of her artwork throughout her career. From those early days until now, her creations continue to capture the imagination of viewers. Yeo Shih Yun's unique blend of traditional techniques and contemporary expression invites us to appreciate the rich history of ink painting while embracing new forms of artistic expression.

Driven by her deep understanding of the medium and her unwavering passion, Yeo Shih Yun's exploration of ink painting has been a transformative journey. With each stroke of the brush, she pushes the boundaries of what's possible in art, inviting us to think differently and challenge our own perspectives.
