!gnite- An exhibition featuring new works by Yeo Shih Yun(Singapore) and Katja Pal(Slovenia) and their collaborative paintings.

This exhibition features three series of paintings. The first series is created by Slovene artist Katja Pal, featuring new geometric abstract paintings created during her residency in INSTINC in August 2009. The second series of paintings are brand new paintings done by local artist and founder of INSTINC, Yeo Shih Yun this October 2009 in her studio at Mohamed Sultan Road, before moving to her new space in Clarke Quay. These new paintings are created with mixed media on canvases with Shih Yun's signature style; her energetic use of black ink and a passionate obsession with capturing the elusive moment that exists between chaos and order.

The last series of paintings, ART JAM, are done jointly by these two artists in INSTINC in September 2009, and have never been exhibited. This is an interesting series as each artist's primary body of work is vastly different from their collaborative paintings, ART JAM. This collaboration has ignited their passion for the medium itself, that is, painting and also their friendship.
